TP,

While the US is paying - Coalition partner countires will get the contracts. Fair or not thats how the game is played. Even when they bid they won't win.

The Europeans can hardly complain - non-European countries never win big military contacts. Recently Canada's P&W won the technical and price issues part of the competition for the engines on Europes new military transport, but lost the bid at the last minute after complaints from European manufacturers.

France builds its own military aircraft - largely to support local industry. You won't see a Mirage in the USAF or a F-22 in the French or German air forces. I don't even think we get invited to bid on French Air Force contracts.

Maybe we should complain?

John
