Ted, Had the New World shown great value to the Brits. and the other Europeans, we would have been in big trouble.

You could probably look towards Latin America as colonialism that has failed. At least the Brits set up an economical infrastructure within North America for the purposes of trade and commerce. Spain pretty much plundered the wealth of their colonies and spent it all like drunken sailors. (Or that's my less-than-informed opinion, so don't flame me if I'm off the mark.)

Its unrealistic now. It won't be say one hundred or two hundred years from now.

By then the racial lines will be blurred by interracial marriages and unions. Cultural lines will be blurred by international pop culture, from sports to movies and yes, even sex. (Hence the alarm of religious conservatives from various faiths.) And geographical divisions will grow smaller with technology. (Flying cars, anyone?)

I believe we'll evolve towards a world community, but I don't believe we should push that evolution along. I think too many people in the U.N. believe in that, which leads them to push neo-socialist agendas.
