yeah we had overcapacity for a few years but we've worked through it now. GDP isn't down is it? The big tech companies are actually selling more, not less than they did in the late 90s. I'm not saying there wasn't overcapacity mind you, just that to draw it out to this degree isn't really accurate. As I was saying on another thread, at my company we need more broadband capacity now and bb was the most overbuilt sector wasn't it? We can't do our netmeetings, the net is orders of magnitude too slow.

But however much overcapacity there was, the fact is we have lost more jobs in the last few years than any other presidential period. More jobs than in the 70s recession, more than that awful 82 period with the goring of manufacturing and the horrible productivity of the US worker. What caused it- offshoring of service professionals and I don't mean just IT. Accounting, call center, even lawyers. Personally I think we'll get some of these back but for now it is painful.
