If you're honest about your beliefs, you would put your money where your mouth is. Giving lip service to social liberalism without actually funding it is empty. Vice-versa, saying your fiscally conservative means you'll have to make painful choices in what social programs you keep (something Ah-nuld will discover very soon).

For me, having a welfare system where you have a finite period of time to get your act together while you get help financially makes good sense to me and satisfies both my fiscal conservatism and my social liberalism.

Of course, maybe a true conservative just gets p*ssed off!
