"Clients are saying to me, 'How can I be sure I get out before everyone else does, because I know it will be very painful.' "

Yep, that is exactly the picture I see. Actually, this time around most of my money is in companies with earnings. Where does one find such companies? Mostly in Asia. But I have been seduced into buying a few stocks that have _expectations_ of good earnings, either from the recovery of the semi business or from broadband growth areas like wireless. These are the ones that could drop very fast when the music stops.

The question is, of course, what will signal that the market is starting to fall. I've seen one suggestion: when the Nasdaq breaks 1700 and the S&P breaks 950. Any other suggestions?
