I just finished watching that documentary about the homosexuals with families who were politically active against gay acceptance. I thought it was extremely interesting and well done and I recommend it to anyone who might be interested. It was low key, thoughtful, seemingly balanced, and respectful of all the participants.

It was sad to see the family estrangements, though. The pain seemed to be greater of the side of the homosexuals. No way to know if that was the actual case or if that was an editing bias. I did get one useful insight, the observation made by the narrator and a couple of participants that the fundamentalist Christian families took the position that they did because their beliefs were that the point of this life is only to position people to get into the next one and their priority was for their children to get to heaven. That's a POV I can understand even as I consider it misdirected.
