Thanks for the recognition that destroying US foreign policy may be too high a price to pay for political victory.
Actually, Bush, Rove and their neocon friends have exposed us to an unlimited bill in Iraq both in lives and treasure in order to win a political victory in 2002.

And please, don't give me the nonsense that Democrats voted for it too, it is a bipartisan war. Most Democrats who voted for did so with misgivings and because they felt their backs were against the wall, the Bush-Rove gang were very clever about that, they claimed that a strong vote in favor would make war less likely, not more likely. Nonsense--only a shameless sophist would claim that they were being anything but disingenuous at the time.

If things were going well, and if things go well a few months from now, you and I and everyone on this board knows that the spoils of victory wouldn't and won't be shared. The only thing that will be willingly shared will be the bills and the pains of defeat.
