This is silly. No one predicted anything of the sort, except for the fools who believed that Iraq had thousands of tons of WMDs that the inspectors wouldn't find. These were amateurs and ideologues, not realistic analysts.

Among realistic analysts, the expectation was that the Iraqi army would collapse, and that the war would continue as a guerilla conflict. I can quote many posts to this effect.
