Success in Iraq can be defined for me to include, the termination of the Baathist party domination over the contained Iraqi's, a representative progressive government in place that provides hope for the Iraqi's and the rest on the people in the area living under the jackboots of tyrannical governments and an Iraq developing a stronger oil export infrastructure. A beacon of promising light emanating from Iraq with some oil production behind it will be a direct assault on the Saudi's who are an active direct threat on the USA and the civilization as we know it.

Americans dont like the threat of being attacked be terrorists. I think most Americans are well aware that leaving a country to Al Qaeda in the center of 2/3 of all oil reserves would be suicidal.

We are one more incident away from a devastating shortage of oil. In addition to the present decreased production from Iraq, Oil producers like Venezuela, Nigeria, Indonesia are stumbling under civil strife and decreasing production. Other OPEC nations are struggling to maintain present production because all their oil revenues get sucked up through corruption and social programs. Iraq has the oil and the world needs a growing stable producer, major energy consuming nations are well aware of this and will grudgingly come to support the coalitions efforts in Iraq.

For you, Jacob and others who want to run from a difficult task, you had better get an understanding what the devastating consequences will be if we leave Iraq in worse shape than when we entered. Iraq must be independent of Iran, Saudia Arabia and Al Qaeda and strong enough to improve itself.

No matter what the price of success is, it is cheaper than the price of failure.
