Some official reports call the formation a simple short squeeze and most prognosticators indicate that the trend will resume downward.

As an example Credit Suisse/First Boston predicted last Friday that the EUR will be 1.077 within a month. It got there within few days. Citibank predicts 1.05 and others even parity or 1 within 2 months.

Just a day ago there was a rumor that USB went short the EUR and placed stops around 1.095. On the other hand Japan officials expressed their concern of the sudden fall of the EUR/JPY from 137 to 127 within a month (this level was prevailing last March)

My sense is different I think there is Japanese intervention
