DRAXIS Health Reports Second Quarter Results; Revenues up 21%; net income $0.02 per share

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 2003--DRAXIS Health Inc. (Nasdaq:DRAX)(TSX:DAX) reported operating results for the second quarter of 2003 ended June 30, 2003. All amounts are expressed in US dollars.

Revenues from continuing operations in the second quarter were $11.8 million, up 20.9% from the 2002 second quarter. Six month revenues in 2003 were $21.8 million or 9.6% ahead of the first half of 2002. Net income from continuing operations for the second quarter was $0.7 million, ($0.02 per share) and for the first six months was $1.5 million ($0.04 per share). EBITDA (pre R&D), for the three and six-month periods of 2003 increased 53.6% and 18.2% over the corresponding 2002 periods to $2.4 million and $4.7 million respectively.
