EC, Yes, they lay their trap with some real russian gems...Russ Mafia supplied, and then take deposits on 10000 machines,
sounds like a pigeon making a deposit on a mercedes.

But, it may be true. The "jostled vapor deposition" method can work.
That uses a plasma to jostle carbon atoms over the thermodynamic hill between an assemblage of diamond particles and a true crystal. Small amount of vapor deposited diamond get hit by energetic plasma ions and get jostled into crystal perfection. Once in crystal perrfection the ions lack the energy to bounce them out, so the crystal grows slowly. A balance between vapor deposition rate and average plasma temperature is needed. Too hot a plasma and it erodes the crystal.
Better to use a magnetic ion filter on known ions of certain charge, accelerate them and take them through an angle and a set of gates. That way you can set top and bottom limits on ion energy.....just enough to jostle loose atoms into a crystal but not enouigh to break them free of a good ctystal....or some other way.
