In_Cog_Nito, I used AlphaCharts for a couple months this summer. After that I did not have the need for real-time intraday charting.

I'm not familiar with the "old Alpha charts". Alpha does not do scanning and it is a web based program with nothing to download. I liked the fact that it gave buy or sell signals on MACD or Bollinger Bands. It helps to actually see them on the chart.
It just has the basic indicators but I like the the charts because they were uncluttered and resizable. They update by the period used but with the level 1 quotes on top it keeps you up in real time. It would not suffice for active tick traders but for position trading it would do.

I did have some concern about some charts updating at each interval and it was slow to bring up some chart that I did not follow in my quotes list.
