I doubt the more troops would have prevented the bomb and mass killing.. This was an area that troops were staying out as it was a holy place and they were showing respect for them.... Israel doesn't stop car bombs ... our troops are not really in a position to check every car or truck in a city the size of Baghdad and other locations. The best response is to get Iraq people to take charge of their responsibilities.
The exploding oil pipeline is a good example of them hurting themselves and others standing by.
