there are two ways of looking at the deaths in Iraq.

One. The continued deaths of Iraqis, both those fighting to lift the occupation and those that are “collateral damage”, like women and children that don’t see a checkpoint in time, are a waste. The continued attrition of “Coalition” troops is more waste.

Two. No matter how it may appear now that the CPA is adopting the Saddam regime’s people (and perhaps some methods), Bremer isn’t Saddam. There will be no unmarked mass graves and no gassing of the populace. In short, less killing.

Neither the adherents of the first, or second view, will easily change their perspective. So, we’re left with shouting and a wrestle in the mud of the Tigris over
