HILLARY'S IN DENIAL OVER RUN FOR PREZ
By FREDERIC PIERCE

August 31, 2003 -- HAMMOND, N.Y. - Sen. Hillary Clinton yesterday disavowed her own Web site that published an avalanche of pleas that she face off against George Bush in 2004, insisting again she's not running for president.
Clinton told supporters this week she was "absolutely ruling out" a race for the White House.

Asked whether the messages of support should be taken offline, Clinton said:

"You'll have to talk to the folks who run the Web site."

Clinton is under growing pressure to make a late bid for the White House from supporters who believe she alone can beat Bush.

"Nothing has changed," she told reporters during a Labor Day weekend appearance in upstate New York. "I have the same position today I had yesterday."

Still, speculation that she was seriously mulling her chances were heightened by reports that she would meet aides next week to make a decision. She has until Nov. 21 to register for January's New Hampshire primary.
