So perhaps, if the "safety" of Americans was really our aim, we should have concentrated on stateside problems aimed at reducing car fatalities like that, instead of invading a country that apparently wasn't all that interested in killing Americans.

Year in, year out, that kind of a daily kill number makes even the casualties of 9/11 look pretty small. Perhaps, just perhaps, we have let fear, kindled in us by our leaders, mess up our sense of rational priorities.

Just a thought.
