"Have XP firewall enabled and Norton Firewall enabled and using router."

imo you should disable xp firewall and let nis take care of business. it will do so quite adequately.

when nis has some help it doesn't need, i.e, xp firewall, its effectiveness can be compromised.

if you'd like documentation to that effect, i don't have it. i've read it numerous times and it certainly can be easily researched.

winxp's firewall is generally rated as "better than nothing", and should be quickly cast aside when a powerful firewall like nis arrives on the scene.

just wanted to give you that heads up.

as for the rest of your post... sounds like your security software is doing what it is designed to do. you didn't receive an infection alert, you received a notice of blocked attempt, am i reading that right?
