Try doing Economics 101, supply and demand etc. and take off your rose tinted glasses. We always assume demand will remain static or go up. It doesn't have to. As an example........where I live, since the 80s, water demand has gone down in spite of a 30%+ increase in population growth. Americans are piglets at the trough when it comes to oil demand. We could conserve and hardly notice it.
