Sorry, but you're just WRONG.

All other things being equal, in the long run, it does. Not to mention higher dependence on ME oil and potential loss of American lives in future conflicts over there caused by that dependence. Try doing Economics 101, supply and demand etc. and take off your rose tinted glasses.


We always assume demand will remain static or go up. It doesn't have to. As an example........where I live, since the 80s, water demand has gone down in spite of a 30%+ increase in population growth.

Americans are piglets at the trough when it comes to oil demand. We could conserve and hardly notice it.
