RE: "Phone retails for $250." The only company in the food chain interested in "retail" price is the one that is giving it away. I think the monthly net should only include the wholesale cost, which probably adds, at least, $10 a month. So competition has lowered the price from $60/mo to $35/mo and elasticity of demand increases the subscribers and the number of handsets used.
