There are three different issues going here. First, a WP reporter went with an "inside source" at the Pentagon that told him she was did some fighting. This was probably not so, but was not put out by DOD, it was just a mistake by a reporter.

The second issue was that the BBC went with wrong info from the Iraqis at the site. The best I have been able to put together is that the raid was done correctly, and was not "sexed up." The Command put it out as "good news" and the press ran with it. If you want to claim otherwise, go ahead, I believe you would be wrong to do so.

The third issue is the book, which you and I will probably agree on. But what the hell, let her make a buck, and more power to her. She is damn lucky to be alive.
