KLA-Tencor confident in quarterly forecast Tuesday September 2, 3:05 pm ET SAN FRANCISCO, Sept 2 (Reuters) - KLA-Tencor Corp. (NasdaqNM:KLAC - News), a maker of process control equipment used in microchip factories, backed its earlier forecast for its first quarter ending in September -- but said the results may depend on completing orders in the last weeks of the quarter. "We're really confident in the guidance," Chief Financial Officer John Kispert said at an investor conference in New York Tuesday. While July and August were good months, the quarter could come down to the final days at the end of this month. "We'll see what hits the fax machine that night," he said. KLA-Tencor in July predicted revenue of $310 million to $315 million, with earnings of 16 cents a share to 17 cents a share.
