chinu, What are you? A babe in arms? The common people of the USSR, knew from the git-go that communism was wrong, but were held under it's cloak by the threat of torture, and death. If you had studied the situation in the 70s, you would have realized the the SSR citizens had nothing to do with the down-fall of communism. It was the power of the United States military, and the wealth of capitalism, that drove their communist regime into the ground.
The Hamas, and the Islamic Jihad, is successful because the people are in accord with their intentions. That is the destruction of Israel as a political entity, and the conversion of the world to islam. The only thing they understand is killing to attempt to achieve their aims.
