Virus problem

I am using win XP, Norton anti-virus 2002, zone alarm, and using a wireless Linksys router so I thought I was pretty well protected. I recently downloaded Ad-Aware. Today I downloaded Spybot Search and Destroy. While running Spybot today, a Norton Virus Alert window popped up with the following:

Norton Antivirus has detected a virus on your computer.
Object Name: C:\program files\common files\claarund.exe
Virus Name: download.trojan
Action Taken: unable to repair this file

When I clicked OK, the window said:

Norton Antivirus has detected a virus on your computer.
Object name: C:\program files\common files\install.exe
Virus name: W32.friendgreet.worm
Action taken: Unable to repair this file.

When I tried to close this alert window it would not close. I then had to shutdown and re-boot. The computer seems fine now.

I would like to get these items removed but I don't see how to do that. I had not run a full system scan with Norton for a very long time (shame on me) so I ran it today and of course it found the 2 virus's above. It did let me Quarantine them so that may be all I can do.

I searched Google for claarund.exe and found nothing. Then I searched for the W32 and found some info on Symantec site that said:

"As this is written, removal instructions are available from the FriendGreetings Web site. Go to:
friendgreetings.com;

That site apparently no longer works.

I have 2 questions

Do you think these virus's showed up on alert today because I was in the middle of running Spybot?

Now that I have them Quarantined is that good enough or do I need to find a way to remove them?

Thanks
Dan
