Well, there are other possibilities. For example, you might be upset because you just finished telling the person that you were not an actuary and calling you one means the party wasn't listening. Or you might be upset because you were actually an astronaut, and, while being an actuary is all well and good, being an astronaut is really, really wonderful, so being considered an actuary would not please you. Or you might be wearing some very un-actuary like fashion, so it would be virtually impossible to mistake you for an actuary.

I'm pulling a Chris here, just to try it on for size. I promise not to annoy you further with that approach.

I agree that yours is the most likely reason. <g>
