have you tried running w98 system diagnostic and repair tools? i'd give it a shot... start \| programs \| accessories \| system tools \| system info \| tools there you will find a menu of useful programs to run against your operating system i recommend... registry checker version conflict manager system configuration manager system file checker direct x diagnostics ie repair tool good luck
