Bush promised 600,000 new jobs by next year. That would actually mean a net loss of 2.5 million jobs since he took office. Considering the amount of spending and tax cuts he's putting out there, Robert Reich estimated that that would cost $500,000 per job in only one year during his debate with Jack Kemp at a Senate hearing I saw on CSPAN.

Now, what if Bush doesn't create 600,000 new jobs. What if he only creates 300,000 which is more realistic consider he just lost another 170,000 last quarter. Then, that is $1,000,000 per job. Would you re-hire a CEO like that?
