| You are a piece of work. First, you made an issue of provenance. I merely pointed out that it was one of the important ideas floating around at the Founding. Second, the elite is not, in fact, self- selected. It has to run a hurdle of tests, professional certification, and establish a reputation to have any influence, and must compete with those among competing elites, for example, through popular election. Third, your blather about the Kristols is inane. I disagree with Bill Kristol frequently enough, but he is not a person of average talents, nor does he toady to anyone. Fourth, most egregiously, the very idea of meritocracy is inimical to "chosen people" and "master races", since inclusion among the elite is open to all regardless of birth. Please, get a clue or keep quiet....... |
