"To be honest I doubted that these types of tools could actually fix this problem (bwdik!) since I was able to get connected only weeks before and it doesn't 'seem' like these kinda generic tools would solve my exception fault problem."

first of all, everything works until it breaks, at which point it's correct to say, hey, it worked last week.

second of all, as for generic tools, you are encountering operating system crashes, and these tools are especially designed to troubleshoot and repair operating system problems. i wouldn't necessarily downplay their effectiveness by referring to them as generic.

keeping in mind that things work until they break (and that they worked great before that), i would consider uninstalling the software that you are having problems with.

after it is uninstalled, reboot and check with a program like RegCleaner for any leftovers. search your hd for any remnants of the uninstalled program.

reboot again.

then do some basic system maintenance... clean all temp int files, cookies, defrag the hard drive, check for orphaned files like redundant .dlls, etc.

reboot again.

next shut down every running application except explorer and systray. disconnect from the net too so that you can close down your AV and FW.

then install the software again.

it just may put you right
