I was in application development at Oracle, in middle management in the early 90s. My team did the logistics part of the application products in the version 9-10 timeframe, 1993/94.

To be honest, if they offshore the whole company to india, and it dies there, I'm not sure I care anymore. I don't recognize the place, and the quality of the products has suffered. It would be good if software got some new blood, some *local* companies that were actually responsive to customers, that did something new and innovative.

My view is that yahoo or one of the internet companies will eventually take a lot of that internet business away anyway.

Well, its good you are working but as you can see from the employment numbers today... this isn't a jobs recovery. We've got some real issues, not sure how to handle them though.
