I was in application development at Oracle, in middle management in the early 90s. My team did the logistics part of the application products in the version 9-10 timeframe, 1993/94. To be honest, if they offshore the whole company to india, and it dies there, I'm not sure I care anymore. I don't recognize the place, and the quality of the products has suffered. It would be good if software got some new blood, some local companies that were actually responsive to customers, that did something new and innovative. My view is that yahoo or one of the internet companies will eventually take a lot of that internet business away anyway. Well, its good you are working but as you can see from the employment numbers today... this isn't a jobs recovery. We've got some real issues, not sure how to handle them though.
