what are you getting at, I mean what is your point? You either believe in free markets, or you don't. And IF YOU DO, then shouldn't we open up the US market to drugs from all over the world? Do republicans believe in free markets or not? They say they do, when they allow flooding of the labor market with 3rd world labor. OTOH if you believe in protectionism for drug companies, so that they can charge 100K for some boutique drugs which can be bought offshore for $200., then its time to close the borders right? So that all the unemployed engrs get their 200K jobs back.
