I have 20 stocks, and this is the only one in the red.

But I'm feeling pretty confident about holding this one long term.

I asked some of my tech friends about trends in the HDD sector, and they really teed off on my ideas that EIDE drives may be taking market share from SCSI drives (SFLX assemblies go into SCSI drives). "Temporary market trend led by know-nothing desktop buyers" they scoffed.

One friend in Fremont, tells me about his neighbor, an @Home customer. "The Internet connection is fantastic." he says. "Its how the net is supposed to work!!!" he gushes. "You click, and Boom!!--the page is there." "I'm signing up tomorrow!!" he claims. He says band-width is the name of the game. And he says, if you want to take full advantage of the connection speed, you'll want a SCSI drive!! His neighbor has a SCSI and claims its needed to really get the most from the cable connection to the net.

In fact, he's trying to get me to pay his @Home connection charge, and commute to his house each day to surf the net. Either that, or I need to sell my house and buy a new house in Fremont! Ugh!! I'd be eligible for a Guiness Record- "First person to re-locate to get a faster Internet connection."

He tells me to hurry and get my house on the market; @Home has stopped accepting new customers and I need to get in line for a hook-up ASAP.

You know, this might be funny, if it wasn't so truue.
