That is why I shorted TALK ( Tel Save ) a few months ago - They were pushing the bounds of accounting principles by not recognizing any of the contract expenses associated with the AOL contract. If they had recognized the legitamate expenses in relation to the length of the AOL contract they would have posted a significant loss for the qtr rather than the gain they made public. Call me crazy but if the contract is signed for 3 1/2 years then expenses should be recognized accordingly. TALK chose to recognize only a fraction of the expenses by stating that they expected the contract to be renewed and thus could legally stretch it out. What a joke? or maybe Fraud is a better word.
