Thanks, Tom

$225 per house sounds like something worth doing for handling emergencies.

For example, how much capital cost would it take to have the New York City subway system be able to run off grid for 3 hours, which would be enough time to get everyone home?

A billion dollars? That would be about 10,000 MwH. I have no idea if that's enough.

And how much would that be worth to the farepayers and taxpayers? With about 2.0 million daily commuters, that might be $500 per commuter.

Just trying to figure out if storage becomes economically viable in other than extreme remote locations.

How does the cost of on-site generation compare with the cost of storage?

Peter
