mm and all, about preventing identity theft [or at least making it harder]: do not carry your Social Security card in your wallet or purse. If the wallet is lost or stolen, having your credit cards AND SS# is a good start for identity thieves. I have my SS# memorized. Credit card companies will often ask for your SS# as identification over the phone.

PS: my bank gave me wallet size card with my checking account number on it. I do not carry it and destroyed it.
You want as little personal information as possible in your wallet.
