Personally, I believe that in real life there is no way to overcome the power inbalance when a superior wants to have relations with a subordinate. There is no way to avoid actual or imiplied coercion, even if it's only such things as the feeling that if the woman says no she will get bad evaluations, not be promoted, etc., whereas if she consents she will move up faster in the organization, get a better office, etc.
When one person has power over another, and wants to mix that up with a sexual relationship, I think there is no way there can be a fair and level playing field.
And most major companies agree, and absolutely forbid such relationships. And those that don't, IMO, are just waiting for major, and successful, lawsuits. |
