I suspect Bin Laden understands the value of propaganda, and understanding your enemy, and manipulating them. Propganda yes, understanding the US, no. Just read his remarks - do you think he understands us? Most of us can barely follow his remarks, they seem so lunatic. Might I suggest that September 11th was an operation whose effects in the Arab world bin Laden expected, but whose effects in the US caught him totally by surprise? Or do you think he planned on losing Afghanistan and being bombed and hunted out of Tora Bora? He was expecting another round of cruise missiles, that's all.
