Now I'm skeptical because individual bases where a person served do not keep service people's personnel records. They all get set to a warehouse near New Orleans. If Bush didn't show up for 13 months he would simply be kicked out and thats probably what he wanted. As a reservist that doesn't make you AWOL, they just kick you out. If he was on active duty thats a different story, you go to jail for that. If he had been called up to active duty and didn't show up, he wouldn't be President today. If he got busted for Coke and depending on when it happened, the laws could have been pretty lax and it may not have been a big deal. It could also be another case of selective enforcement too where the state said we cant make any money in fines from this arrest and nobody was hurt so we wont prosecute.
