Fuel Cell Market Survey: Small Stationary Applications

30 Jul 2003

Author: Stefan Geiger, Mark Cropper – Fuel Cell Today

Description: Small stationary (residential) fuel cells continue to make progress as power sources for homes and back-up applications. This survey, an update of the report published on Fuel Cell Today in February 2002, examines the activity in this area.

Since we last looked at this market, there have been many changes. Hundreds more systems have been installed all over the world, and many more companies have shown an interest in this application. There are now around eighty companies active in the development of complete small stationary fuel cell systems worldwide. Furthermore, some of these have begun selling units openly, while others have announced plans to introduce their first commercial products within the next two to three years.
