Sarmad, "I don't see the head business as more challenging than other parts of disk drive design and manufacturing." I don't know why it is so, but historically, it seems to be so. SEG never had a shortage of money, Shugart always emphasized engineering and R&D, he can't be accused of not knowing the business--but somehow their heads business frequently missed transitions, and even had internal communications snafus with their own people on design! Maybe Gus or Zeev or someone who knows something about how heads are designed and made can come in to tell us why it always seems to be problematic. But certainly, I would say that they have a better shot at succeeding than RDRT's former management. However, as I said in the previous post, to some extent at least, the economies of scale may work against them. But as I've said far too often on these threads, time will tell.
