You know what's going on with 9/11? What most people in America don't understand? There are two Americas (and have been for many decades). One that is inhabited by the super-rich and serves their interests above all else and one for everyone else. 9/11 was allowed to happen to further the interests of the super-rich, while "everyone else" guess and tries to figure out what really happened, or if they're really numbskulls just accepts the "official" version of events.
Liberals, leftists and just plain conspiracy buffs try to connect the dots that point to Bush admin complicity and/or inaction. Conservatives, rightist, and statists try to lay blame on the earlier Clinton administration who seemed to be remiss on following up on terrorist leads.
All the while, the super-rich (the other America) laughs all the way to the bank as they get even richer off the new military, security, oil, and infrastructure contracts that are being generated as a result of 9/11.
Other examples of the "two Americas":
1963 - JFK is assassinated by wealthy elites such as the defense establishment because he appears to be ready to pull us out of Viet Nam, which would dry up very lucrative military contracts and hurt the prestige of the military.
1968 - Richard Nixon and his wealthy cohorts interfere with the Viet Nam Peace negotiations and cause the war to go on for another six years, causing 10,000s of more American lives.
1980 - The Reagan campaign conspires with the Iranian government to keep American hostages in capitivity until after the 1980 elections, so as to keep a potential political advantage of pre-election hostage release from the Carter campaign.
1981-1986 - Iran/Contra - Breaking all sorts of U.S. laws and codes of ethical conduct, the Reagan admin trades with Iran to fund the Contras.
1986-1990 - CIA and other government officials look the other way as planes full of guns are sent to allies in Central America and planes full of cocaine return to the United States. Much of this cocaine went directly to Los Angles and help fuel the crack epidemic which swept across America in the late 1980s.
1990s saw a waning of these covert efforts, mainly because the Dems were in power in the executive branch and the cold war had ended. But, there still were some scandals that made the wealthy very wealthy like BCCI.
Then, we had the 2000 election debacle in which the very basis of American democracy seemed to be threatened by antiquated voting methods and underhanded means to suppress the minority vote (like scrubbing the Florida voting roles of out of state felons and of in state mistemeanor violators and others who had no convictions at all).
This all leads us to 9/11/01. Was there a conspiracy by some very wealthy and powerful people to let 9/11 happen? I don't know for sure, but if the past behavior is any indication, this would not be beneath them. They don't care about the other America. |
