Jackson was much more Pious.

Even for his time and locale, Jackson's piety was remarkable.

He said the six hour version of "Gods and Generals" coming out has a lot more "Lee" in it.

Good...focusing on Jackson did not make for a stronger movie, IMHO. Stephen Lang did not understand the character well enough to convey the contrast between the dull, sleepy, day-to-day nature of the man, versus the fiery, glowing-eyed figure he became in battle. The makeup and wardrobe departments also seemed to have trouble accepting the fact that he was a slouchy, uninspiring, carelessly-groomed figure. He was also said to have a rather high-pitched, weak voice, unsuitable for stirring speech making.

Shaara finds that people can accept the language that we find stilted today much easier when it is written than when it is spoken, and that is why they are turned off by the "Lee" in the film.

Perhaps they should have shown one of his rare rages. They were described as monumental and fearsome by the few who saw them, in a sort of beware-the-anger-of-a-patient-man way.

Isn't it funny how people can lap up the overblown religiosity of the "Reverend" Jackson and Sharpton, which they know is fake, while objecting to Bush's sincerity.

Bush's piety does indeed seem real to me, one of the few reasons I have for not entirely dismissing him as a classic puppet front-man, born to a morally bereft family, unduly influenced by slightly deranged ideologue advisors, screwing up everything he has ever touched.
