I understand that some of the "Howlers" were real.

I somehow doubt they will show GWB's initial reaction to being told that America was under attack: sitting in a school classroom for at least ten minutes, listening to a story about a pet goat, with Ari holding up a hastily lettered sign instructing him to "Don't Say Anything Yet." Wouldn't surprise me at all to think that a few of Bush's incomparable speechwriters were responsible for the better "spontaneous quips", although you never know.

I was thinking yesterday that Bush's "Carrier" scene has turned out to be a mistake.

I thought at the time that GWB's Top Gun stunt would come back to bite him on the butt, if only because it would cause folks to focus on his desertion from the Texas Air Natl Guard.

Funny how the "liberal press" continues to give him a free pass on that one.
