Bush to Request $87 Billion for Iraq

Looks like an extra $87 billion on top of the $70 some billion already being spent. That's what happens when you nickel and dime at the start of nation building. The eventual costs increase geometrically, the longer you postpone biting the bullet. The mismanagement of post-war Iraq makes Enron and Worldcom appear to be paragons of management virtue. But I applaud Bush for biting the bullet and accepting the inevitable political hits. I hope he fires the idiots at Defense that brought this about.
