Jay, me and Eplay talk China raise. Competition that China is imposing in this region is very good. Those guys (SEA)had been happy -or sort of- just getting the bread crumbles from Japan's table. Lots of inneficiencies and poor infrastructure.

Enter China. Now they are upgrading. Either going up market, or improving efficiency. Some Argentines I met here, are improving efficiency of the harbors, they connect cranes via Wi-Fi, over wireless to a control center to keep an eye on the cranes.

Only Sing and HK had decent harbors here. Now others have to make it better to face China.

Any big multinational can now settle anywhere -not in JKT, though- KL, BKK which are cheaper than Sing and HK. That because the infra today in those cities are good enough.

I am expecting many more countries in this region investing in improving facilities, infra and doing away with the famous inneficiencies of Asia.

Before, Japan didn't have an incentive to do that and invest Yen on it. Japan didn't want competition. Today, the SEA countries themselves have to take that iniciative.
