Nothing you wrote about East Timor has anything to do with the inability for any other nation to provide the kind of logistical and command support that the US does.

The point is that, when the primary financial and logistical support for a particular UN operation comes from one particular nation, I believe that nation should command that operation.

If France wants to have a French commander in Iraq, let them pony up more money and manpower than the US. The same goes for any other nation.
