Of course the war in Iraq had lots to do with the war on terrorism.

Everything: its purpose was to distract public attention from the poor progress being made in that war. The situation in Afghanistan has been getting worse rather than better recently (and noone notices). And now the administration has made a hash of Iraq, and that chaos has become a new breeding ground for terrorists. Thankfully, the terrorists have not used on our troops any of the massive stockpiles of WMD they have hoarded and hidden in Iraq. Maybe they can't find them either ...
