Iraq was not a clear and present danger. It was a potential up-the-road danger. Maybe. And it had tons of oil. The Bushie neocons and Cheney type big oil types were licking their chops. Planned to invade Iraq even before 9-11, just needed an excuse. The marketing and sales of the war to the American People was full of deceit, exaggeration and political chicanery. They really did use it to steal the November elections. It was also so rushed. There was almost no post-war planning. The attempts to join forces with the US were half-hearted and cynical. Our way or the highway. The American People resent being tken along for a ride, especially one so expensive and dangerous. It really was reckless, not bold. Only fools rush in and now, to the world, we look like fools. Now we are stuck there. Probably for 5-10 years. As for the oil, Buishie cronies will profit, but not the American People. As if we fought that war for a few energy companies and Bectel. As for it being part of the War On Terror, that's the Bushie spins, but it's a dog that doesn't hunt. Of course now thre are plenty of terroristas in Iraq coming at us. But that is mainly Bush's doing. They weren't there before.
