Ms Bush,
The rightwingers who are long time followers of this thread are going to be stupefied on your characterization of me seem to 'believe in Bush' -- politics & policies.
No I have not been curious upto this point. It is just recently after reading Lizzie's posts about offshoring that I started thinking about it. Have been extremely busy with my current job to look deeper into it.
As far as US Big Corporations "productivity" plans are concerned... at this point of time I can just issue a blanket statement...
"United States needs to see the cost savings of those big corporations as a result of outsourcing. "
There is no point in allowing US based companies to offshore work only to reinvest those profits abroad. Also I think trade agreements need to be worked out with countries like China and India where they lower Tarrifs for US goods since they are seeing the benefits. Under this scenario Trade imbalances need to be pursued aggressively by the administration, since this is costing US jobs. Administration goal should be such that net result of the whole thing leads to more US jobs eventually rather than losses.
Successful implementation of such policies will lead to a mutual win win situations (except for people in my field who are currently bearing the brunt of outsourcing).
</My .02 Cents>
