Stealing the oil need not be physical.
The phony rebuilding at phony prices is going to saddle Iraq with 100's of billions in debt. That is how the oil will be stolen.
Meanwhile the rebuilding will be said to cost 100B to the US taxpayer, who will believe that the usual 'there we go again, saving the whole ungrateful world'.
Iraq has only 25 million people, $1K each and every person only comes out to $25Billion. Surely there could have been other cheaper ways to dislodge Saddam, or foment trouble instead of outright war, that has cost us far more in credibility.
Notice that no one is lining up to be bulletcatchers, or pony up the cost of the adventure.
India and Pakistan are a big hope, I wonder for how long.
Musharraf will plead instability of the country.
India's right wingers will have to face election consequences of other parties taking advantage of the situation and wooing the 130 million Muslim votes, lefties,
,3 million Gulf workers who pump in 10 billion a year, and the military that will be unwilling to do the dirty work.
Few countries with populations bigger that 25 million can be bought. Turkey was not for sale with 7 Billion offers.wonder if they will be any different now.
